Before your trip

Get legal before you get on the water.

Each angler is responsible for having the required Oklahoma license and paddlefish permit before fishing. The good news: the paddlefish permit itself is free.

2

Get the fishing license that applies to you

Most anglers need a valid Oklahoma fishing license. Resident and nonresident requirements differ, and some exemptions may apply.

3

Add the free Paddlefish Permit

ODWC requires an annual paddlefish permit for anyone fishing for paddlefish, including anglers who are otherwise exempt from a fishing license.

4

Keep proof with you

Carry your license and paddlefish permit electronically or in hardcopy while fishing.

Important: Paddlefish rules include barbless hooks, one rod and reel per angler, harvest limits and E-Check requirements for kept fish. Regulations and legal fishing hours can vary by location. Kaff Charters will review the trip-specific rules with you, but each angler remains responsible for complying with Oklahoma law.
